HOLISTIC NURSING! The Real Deal......
There’s so much to be celebrated this nurses week …..and these few photos and sharing’s are only touching the surface of the many rich years of study and experience I’ve had since ( omg - the late 70’s!).
Yes, I was an Intensive Care Nurse in the very early years ( which was my CLINICAL experience) - but I found my true passion in the area of HOLISTIC NURSING.
When I was an ICU nurse I came across a brochure from the AHNA The American Holistic Nurses Association about a workshop that was given to nurses by a Holistic MD - a pediatrician from Maryland ( Nicola Taurosa MD) who wrote “Awaken the Genius in Your Child” ..and he taught meditation and nutrition and things like dairy products not being good for all children ( these things were unheard of at that time)
I attended that workshop and thus was the beginning of my Holistic Nursing journey and career.
I joined the AHNA and eventually was elected on the Board of Directors as the Northeast Regional Director.
I became good friends with the founder, Charlotte McGuire, and then of course met so many amazing Holistic Nursing notables ( those pictured here and others...Sharon Scandrett / @karilee.Shames / Linda Lee Smith / Susan Luck / Cynthia Hutchison
- so many more I cant think to mention right now.
Then continued on to to further my studies through the Integrative Nurse Coach Academy (inursecoach) and Functional Nursing....
…and then all things Healing Touch and Energy Medicine.
